The Black Jack Bitumen Paint 5 Litre - Black a solvent based, full bodied black bitumen paint. When dry, the product forms an odourless and taint free bitumen film suitable for the protection of metals, concrete roofing, felt, fibre, cement, corrugated iron, asphalt and wood against water attack. This product has a fast drying time and is suitable for use with portable drinking water tanks. It dries to a matt finish.

Black Jack is a fast drying compound. Allow up to 24hrs to dry completely. Unaffected by water immediately after application – can be applied when rain is imminent. Can also be used to bond felt. Apply by brush or spray. A minimum of two coats of EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 901 BLACK BITUMEN PAINT should be applied. The first coat should be allowed to dry (normally 2-4 hours depending on weather conditions) before the second coat is applied. Penetration Primer should be well scrubbed in by brush or applied by spray, taking care to ensure the surface is dry and as dust-free as possible. Drying time is approximately 3-6 hours depending on conditions. Make sure that the product has dried completely before overcoating.

New asphalt built-up roof (BUR) surfaces should weather a minimum of 90 to 180 days prior to coating with Black Jack aluminum roof coatings.What effect does ponded water have on aluminum roof coatings?
Aluminum coatings do not perform well on roofs that pond water. Dirt can accumulate in depressions and inhibit the reflectance of the coating. If an aluminum coating is under water for a prolonged period of time, the water may work its way under the coating causing it to peel. Positive drainage is needed to flush away surface dirt and retain the reflective properties of the aluminum coating.
