Dice Poker: The Professional is an optional sub-quest of A Game of Dice. It is spawned once Γκέραλτ has beaten four novice players. The stakes are higher, but so are the takings.

1. Possible sets: nothing, one pair, two pairs, three of a kind, four of a kind, straight (1-5 or 2-6), full (three of a kind plus two pairs of a different number), five of a kind. Step 3: Win in poker with the townsman in the tavern. After defeating Bendeck and Casmir you can play with Sindram. The rules of course are the same as before.
2. In The Witcher 2, you can earn a lot of extra orens and get additional experience points by playing minigames. You can play Dice Poker, Arm Wrestling and indulge yourself in Fistfighting.

Dice poker returns as a mini-game in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.Due to its inherent reliance on sheer luck, it is not a good way of making money. The game is essentially unchanged from the original game, except that you now must physically 'roll' the dice and you have the possibility of losing one or more of them if they roll off the playing surface. Playing dice is a good way to eat up any oren that you may have earned or scavenged, but not necessarily to come away with anything of value. In general, it works about like the board game Yahtzee.

Beat the professionals one by one as you meet them during your journeys. The quest ends when you have beaten four professionals. You can then approach the first Sharper level player — at the same time, the Dice Poker: The Sharper quest is started.

You only have to best four out of a possible eight professional players, so your journal entries may not include all the entries you see below, nor will the phases you do see necessarily be in the same order as seen here.
